What do you think of Romeo for a boy? Too tied to the tragic love story of Romeo and Juliet? Usable?
Do you think it will get common among the masses? It's a bit celeb trendy already.
Do you know anyone named Romeo? Does he get teased? Would people make lots of jokes or annoying comments on the name?

I love the name but I think it's too related to Romeo and Juliet. Otherwise I'd definitely use it. It's such a nice name.
No, I don't think it will ever be common and I've never heard anyone named Romeo (other than Romeo from Romeo & Juliet).
I think that a Romeo can come from anywhere but maybe more likely to have an Italian background. Not necessarily though. It's romantic but it's definitely not too wimpy for a boy - I actually think the opposite.

My cat is called Romeo!
That's why it's a bit hard for me to see it on a human, but I wouldn't think it's horrible but rather charming. I pronounce it RO-mee-o in English and my cat's name RO-meh-o.

I say Ro-me-oh, nd I absolutely ADORE the name. I wanted soo badly to name my son Romeo but I didn't, thinking he would get teased too much. I love love love it, nd should I be fortunate enough to have a second son, I don't think I'll hesitate to use it.

I like the name but i know a dog with the name and cant get that image out of my head.
however, i think as a proper name it is a great classic!
You could call him Roy! For all the rest he can use his proper name.

I don't think it's useable, not only for the Shakesperean character but also because of the way "Romeo" has become a synonim for "ladies' man".
