I think it's about a generation before the general public in the USA will be able to see Mildred as an appropriate name for a baby again. But the avant garde might start bringing it back as a funky name when they get tired of names like Hazel and Olive.

I've always hoped that Milbrey, the modern form of Milborough, the name of the original St. Mildred's sister who was also a medieval saint, would catch on myself. I like it a lot better than Mildred, but that's partly because I'm old enough that it's very hard for Mildred to sound "fresh" to me. :)
