[Opinions] Re: Rachel

I don't find it too dated. I'm in a different country but Rachel is very popular in my generation - I know one Rachael, and 3 Rachel's were in my sister's year at school. It still seems fairly current to me even though it's not popular among new parents. I get the feeling it will continue to fall out of favour here, it doesn't have the popular sounds at the moment and the nicknamey feel, or potential for nicknames which seems to be popular criteria.
I have the association of Rachel from Friends but she's not the only one, it's too popular.
I prefer the Rachel spelling, but I don't mind Rachael. Racheal just seems wrong same with Micheal. Rachelle seems a bit pretentious.
