When Vera and Angie decided to have a fourth child, they immediately began debating over whether to find out the sex ahead of time. Angie was adamant about finding out, as they had done for their first two pregnancies, because she wanted to be able to plan ahead. But Vera was dead set against it, wanting to be surprised about the sex. By the time the day of their big ultrasound appointment finally arrived, Angie had almost convinced her to find out, but Vera was still pleased when the ultrasound was inconclusive. Angie was annoyed, but quickly got over it. A few months later, their daughter was born. It was Vera's turn to pick the first name, and she had her heart set on Sheridan, which Angela despised. At first, Vera stood her ground, but she eventually decided that it wasn't fair to Angela; even Angela's favorite name, Teresa, in the middle name position could not make her warm up to Sheridan, so Vera decided to compromise, changing the name to Teresa Sheridan.

Writing: (Well, eventually Nora's extended leave turned into permanent leave. She was fired from her job in the firm, but truth be told she wasn't too upset about it. She knew she couldn't keep the job, it would be too tiresome, and it would add to her stress. So now that it was official that she had left that job, she decided to do something a little less demanding and pressuring. A good option, she thought, would be to become a kindergarten teacher. She had the psychology training, and she was very good with children, so she took up the position of kindergarten teacher's assistant at Mathilde's (and her children’s' future) kindergarten. She likes this job, however she feels it is a long-term temporary position. She'll keep it up until her children grow up a little and become less care-needy. Nevertheless, so far so good. (Plus, she also gets a discount for her children!)
The new arrival of a little baby girl in the family got everyone excited more or less. Zephyr and Jason, who weren't yet of an age of reason, were excited (because their parents encouraged them to be so - and plus, excitement is contagious just like misery is) curious (because they couldn't really comprehend and relate Nora's large belly and the baby fitting inside - and then even more perplexing, coming out.

We just welcomed another son, Max. Jake wanted a nicknamey firstname but I didn't so we ended up with Max. A nickname that also could be a full name. Sadly Jacob's father apssed away just a week before his birth. We decided to honor him with the middlename, Oscar.

Charlie, Eira and David all love little Max and they all want to kiss and hug him. Charlie who is three now sees little Max as his own baby and runs to him whenever he starts to cry.

The time Clem was fired she actually had been desperately trying to figure out the best way to quit on her way in! She was all set to break the news when she was called in to the office and "let go." She kept her mouth shut and walked out with a nice severance check. She hated every single person who worked there and they pretty much couldn't stand her, either.

Writing: Soon after she announced that she was pregnant with Azu, Ingrid was dismissed from her job with little explanation. The family, struggling to provide for their growing family, decided to lay a claim with the employment disputes court. The result of this was that the Hospital had fired her in order to avoid paying for her replacement whilst she was on maternity leave. They were ordered to compensate Ingrid for the distress caused, and after the birth of the new baby she found employment as a practice nurse at a nearby doctors' office. She now enjoys a much closer relationship with her new colleagues and patients.

About a year after Wyatt was born, Alec and Juliet had both settled into stable careers, and the family had moved into a bigger apartment. Andrew and Nikki have been a very busy couple. Andrew finally graduated with his doctorate last year, and he landed an awesome job working as a physical therapist at a private clinic. He loves doing what he does, and he's happy that he and Nikki no longer have to juggle classes, two jobs, the kids, and time with each other. Nikki enrolled the boys in daycare for a year so that she could work and make a little bit of money while Andrew finished up his doctorate. She had decided to work part-time, then found out that she was expecting another baby! She and Andrew really hadn't planned on any more kids after the twins were born--taking care of three kids under three was a challenge! Nevertheless, both Andrew and Nikki were excited about this baby, especially when they found out that it was going to be a girl.

Andrew's father Philip had been battling prostate cancer since the time that Nikki met Andrew. He was always in and out of the hospital, so Andrew and Nikki did their best to help his mom out when they could. Unfortunately, Grandpa Philip's cancer spread to the rest of the body, and he decided that it was time for him to call it quits. He refused treatment, and the doctor's gave him a year to live. About six months into that year, Nikki found out she was expecting her baby. Philip wanted very much to meet his new granddaughter, but no amount of radiation or chemotherapy would have made a difference, so he hoped that he would live long enough to see his second granddaughter born (Andrew's younger sister was married and had a one year old daughter).
