[Opinions] Astrid
I like Scandinavian names, and this one is growing on me. I've had people tell me it sounds geeky, but I beg to differ; I think it sounds smart, strong, and sassy. What do you guys think?

I think it's lovely :-)
I like it too.
I love Astrid. It's a little geeky, but in a good way.
I like it. I know an Astrid and she's very cool, so good assciaations here.
I love it!
It's been growing on me lately. I'd only use it as a MN personally, because of what it might be shortened too.
I like it. I don't think it sounds 'geeky' at all, it sounds cool.
I posted on this a couple of weeks ago
I happen to love the name. There were some more responses to my post; if you go into the archives you can find it. I asked about both Astrid and Ingrid.

It's lovely. Queen Astrid of Belgium was renowned for her beauty and elegance. I'm surprised the name is not more popular.
I like it. Makes me think of Astrid Lindberg. It is quite popular here (I'm from Sweden) which I think is sad but at the same time, that means that many people don't see it as geeky. ;)
I thought of Astrid Lindberg, too.
I never read "Pippi Longstocking", but that was one of the first things that popped into my head when I heard the name. It's not as popular in the U.S.; in fact, I don't think I've ever met an Astrid in my life.

It doesn't really makes me think of "Pippi Longstocking" (huh, it looks wierd! IN swedish we call her "Pippi Långstrumpa" so I'm used to that =P) but I think of Astrid in general since she written so many books that I loved as a child.
To me it sounds like scandinavian names becomes more and more popular in the US! Like Freya/Freja, Sören, Björn, Ingrid, Siri, Astrid, Kjell, Torsten, Kai...
