Everyone is doing great!Ruby adapted very quickly to a new lifestyle. She doesn't remember her biological parents very well, but recognized them by their voices when they called a few weeks ago.George had the most trouble adjusting. With so many other kids, it was difficult to give him all the attention he deserves. For a while, he kept to himself and played only with Tigger, but soon, our pet rabbits won him over. After that, he bonded easily with Adam, our 13 year-old adoptive son, who also has a soft spot for the bunnies. It didn't take much longer for him to open up with everyone, and is now doing fantastic.Charlotte and Dylan are doing very well, also. Charlotte has been managing her diabetes quite well, and recently befriended one of Charlie's patients, a little girl who also has diabetes. Dylan has also been making many friends; he now plays soccer and basketball for their school. We gave him a guitar last Christmas, and he's now discussing forming a band with a few of his friends.Nathan and Emma had some difficulties at first. It soon became clear that Emma's depression could not go untreated, as she distanced herself emotionally from everyone and had difficulty eating even the wonderful dishes Nathan prepared. She was reluctant to see a doctor about her problem, but soon she realized it could be harmful to the baby and agreed to go. Now, she is doing fine, and has recently began to open up to us about her parents and how badly the situation hurt her.Emma and Nathan's baby was born shortly after they came to live with us. It was a baby girl, who was named Coralie Mariah. Cora effortlessly brightened up all our lives! She's also doing very well, and enjoys making loud noises in the middle of the night.Nathan had some problems with school at first; he several times refused to attend when Emma wasn't feeling well. Eventually, he became more trusting of us to care for her, and more comfortable in school. It took very little time for him to make many friends.
