I'm starting to like Kira (KEE-ra) for a girl. What do you think of it? The thing I really dislike is that there are at least 5 ways to spell Kira that I can think of. I mean, yeah, you could even spell Emma as Emmah but the thing with Kira's various spellings is that they all seem to be somewhat popular (think Katelyn). So far I've seen Kira, Keira, Kiera, Ciara and Keera but I know it doesn't end there. I definitely like Kira best but also fear that it could be pronounced like Kyra (which I pronounce KY-ra). I also fear that it has a very trendy feel to it. So far I've met two Keiras, a Ciara, a Kyra (KY-ra) and a Kira.

Kira is a gorgeous name. Kira looks like KEE-ra to me, not KY-ra. I definitely prefer it with this spelling; I don't care for Keira and Kiera. Ciara is fine, but in the U.S., I'm sure it would be mispronounced quite often.
I personally don't know any Kiras. I don't think it's too trendy, but I really hope that it doesn't become too popular.

I like Kira a lot. Ciara/Keira/Kiera is not related to Kira, though. Kira is the Russian feminine form of Kirill, and Ciara is the Irish feminine form of Ciar.

I think Kira is trendy, but still a classic name, unlike Kayla.

It's okay, I'm not really into most K names-they seem trendy, cutesy, and low class to me (I know that's not true that's just the impression I get) Katelyn, Kayla, Kaylee, Kylie, Kacey, Kaylinn, Kallie, Kyla, Kyra, Kara, Kassie...so many cutesy K names! They are all so similar, they don't really stand out in the crowd.
2. Not as bad as say Kaylie or Kaylinn...but a little along those lines. Kira is not as bad. I like it a little more...it's more classy.

I don't think Kira is trendy at all, I think it'll be a round for a while too, thanks to Keira Knightley.

I pronounce Kira like KEE-ra, I think there may be a few who pronounce it Ky-ra but they can be easily corrected :)
