[Opinions] Mabel
What do you think of Mabel ? Do you think it will make a comeback ? Do you know any ? How would you spell it ? Do you still think of an old lady or a cow or is it fashionable again ? do you think it will make a comeback or is it one of those names that will probably never come back such as Bertha ? Do you like Maybelle ?

I know a Mabel. She's about to turn 17 and it is spelled that way. It's not generally fashionable but I think it will come back after about 10 or 15 years. Maybelle makes me think of a cow. Bertha is very pretty.

I quite like this name, with this spelling. I don't see it getting popular, but sometimes names sneak up on you! Maybelle is not as nice imo.

I think Mabel is horrible - sorry! - and Maybelle reminds me of the cosmetic brand Maybelline.
A Welsh friend has called her kitten Mabli (MAH-blee, the Welsh form of Mabel.

I think it will. My history teacher was talkin about how he liked old fashioned names like Emma and Stella and Mabel. It's got that long A and cute May-related nicknames and an old-fashioned spunk.Meh it's okay.

I like Mabel. It is old-fashioned yes, but I think it has a good, sweet sound, not an ugly one like other old-fashioned names, e.g Mildred. I likw the meaning too. I have never met one - young or old though I did see a Mabel in a B.A. last week.I think it will make a come-back. It has a slightly geeky feel that can be seen as cool and the "May" sound and "Ma-" start that is popular.

I can see Maybelle making a modest comeback, but not Mabel. Mabel is VERY old-fashioned.

I know a very, very old lady named Mabel. She is the only person I have ever met with the name. Its an ok name. With alot of older "M" names becoming popular again, I could see it making a comeback.
