[Surname] Pronounciation of two names
I would be very grateful if someone could help me with the pronounciation of these two (Irish) surnames;
Maher - I pronounced it as Mah-er but know I wonder if that is correct. Should it be more like Mar/Mair?
Gill - is it pronounced with a soft or hard G?
Thank you!

Maher is Marr in Ireland.
Gill has a hard G - like gull.

The pronunciation of Maher is Mawher in Ireland and Marr in North America. Gill is pronounced Guill, not Jill.
