[Opinions] Re: Brooke
in reply to a message by Lily8
My name is Brooke and I like it, but only in a non-US context. US Brookes (in TV shows, etc) tend to be stereotypical bimbo-ish cheerleader types, which I'm not a fan of. However, I like the name on me. I've met a couple of Brookes, and know of 2 or 3 more, all within 6 years of my age (I'm 20), but all quite different, so I don't have a specific image of a 'Brooke' (apart from me!). I've also noticed a few in the BAs here, so it probably isn't dated (not here in NZ anyway).
Its mn status would depend on what FN you used it with, a short staccato one wouldn't work, but a flowy one probably would.
As for Brooklyn, I'm not a fan, especially not on a girl. I hardly know of any girl Brooklyns, and I don't know of any Brooklyns (either sex) that go by Brooke.
