So... Heidi's become one of my new favorite names, but I'm struggling to find a full name for it. I considered Heida, but it's almost too harsh for me. The only other names I can think of are Adelheid and Herzeleide, but I'm not too keen on either one. Any suggestions? Any name that contains the letters H, E, I, and D - in that order, but not necessarily contiguous - would be acceptable. Names that are not from the database would be welcome.

Also, what do you think of Consuela? I think it's my favorite girl name at the moment. I'm not planning on using a formal nn with it, but I might occasionally shorten it to Suela.

My friend's name is Maria Consuelo and she goes by Consue. I dislike Heidi. I can think of Heike or Heika- Heike was a really popular name in Germany 50 years ago and seems outdated but so does Heidi in my opinion so you might like it. Also Heidrun, I know a girl named Heidrun pr. HY-droon. Adelheide, Adelheid, Adelaide ? it contains eaide at least. Hermione ? Hedwig ?

Heidi makes me think of Heidi Montag and Heidi Klum, so I wouldn't use it.

Consuela is ugly.

Consuela has a lovely sound. The two names have such a different sound and style.

I also like Heidi because it has a spunky quality. As for nicknames, I'm not sure of any, since I always thought Heidi was one of those no-nickname names.

Heidi is fine as just Heidi. It doesn't need to be made longer. It's a good, sensible name on its own.

Consuela? meh... I'm somewhat indifferent on that one.

What about Adelaide? It's the English version of Adelheid and works just fine. Adeline and Alice would work too, as they're both related to Adelheid / Adelaide.

I hate Consuela, sorry. It just sounds really ugly to me.

I think Heidi works for Adelaide too and that's my favored. Heidi's cute, it's grown on me.
Of course, you could probably smush together some other germanic element + heid and perhaps come up with something you like. Or even something like Anneheid "graceful sort." Heidi/Heida is one nickname I can't endorse as a given name because it means "Sort/Type." So idk

Everywhere I have seen Heidi means "noble". I'll have to look that one up.

look at the etymology of it

It's a short form of Adelheid, which means "noble sort" - but the elements of it are Adel (noble) and Heid (sort). Heidi, of course, comes from the second element

I would have to say I like plain Heidi but I may be a little biased. If you are looking for a full name however I really like Aleida and Adelaide.

I know a couple of Consuelas both of whom go by Connie. I like it enough on someone else.
