Since I am such an ardent proponent of Cecilia, Celia bugs the hell out of me. It is a weenie version of Cecilia that means "light angel fairy heaven." Cecilia is much more powerful. The double S sounds tie it down and make it hissy and therefore: Imperfect, and therefore: Appealing. Incredibly appealing. Beautiful in a much more powerful and human way than weenie old Celia. Blind versus "heaven." Cececccccciiiilia. Celia bugs me also because in order for it to be pronounced Seelia in most languages it would have to be spelled Cilia. Sellia is fine but I know hardly any english speakers are saying it Sellia. Oh Cecilia is so vastly better than Celia. Gulfs of better. Miles and mountains of better. Galaxies of better. Celia cannot bear to walk on the ground Cecilia walks on. Celia is only pretty when it is a pretty fairy cloud, Cecilia is gorgeous even when she is hissing and blind. Etc. etc. etc.
