Remy inherited a large corporation from his father, and has been running it since his father's death in 1994.
Rose is a writer of novels.
Alley is raising his daughter after the death of his fiancee in childbirth. He has put off going to university indefinitely. He has moved back in with his parents for their help and support.
Teensy has graduated early, and is an actress. She has done considerable work in regional theatre and plans to move to New York and work on Broadway.
Dolly is exceptionally bright, but does not like to do her schoolwork. She spends her time reading, writing, and playing with Mina and Josie.
Phin is an active boy who enjoys sports and is also a budding entrepreneur with his own neighborhood dog-walking service.
Hugo is shy and quiet, but loves to act with his sister Teensy at home and in local theatre. He also writes constantly, but won't let anyone but Dolly read it.
Lucky considers himself to be Alley's best friend, and helps him out as much as he can. His big brother helps him in return, and Lucky is considered the most trustworthy and serious of the children. He fuctions as a confidante and mediator to all of his siblings, and even occasionally his parents.
Josie is creative and intelligent. She taught herself to read when she was four years old, and is now beginning to write her own little stories and poems. She loves the praise and support her mother and older sister Dolly give her writing, and enjoys listening to their stories.
Baby Mina is Alley's pride and joy, as well as the jewel of the family. Her father is fiercely protective, and tries his very best to take care of her by himself. The family is always there for the two of them, and Mina is always surrounded by love.
