I'm not the greatest fan of word names, but I rather like Winter, though it's not the kind of name I'd use. I think it works on both genders, winter being a somewhat masculine concept.
It's a family surname so I'd never say never!
It does make me think of a Christmas card snow-scene, though! I don't think it's apt for babies born at any other season.

I like it for a girl. I think it's pretty, even though my favorite season is summer. I also love December.
I love it for a boy! Don't like it for a girl.
Winter is a name of season ... Poor child :-(
I really like Winter for a girl. It seems totally feminine to me but that could be because Spring, Summer, and Autumn are almost exclusively girl names, and Winter just goes with the theme.
I like the crisp sound of Winter. It's a name that sticks out compared to other season names, imo. I guess I like just about everything about it; the sound, look, and general feel I get from it.

I really like the name Winter. I prefer it for a girl but I think it would be fine for a boy as well.

I like the name Winter a lot, but only for a mn really. I prefer it for a girl, but it would work for either, especially if the baby is born in winter.
I like it-I think its very soft and pretty. The only season that doesn't make a good name is Spring.
I LOVE it for a girl. I always have.
Not so much for a boy, although in a fantasy it would be better, all dramatic and all.
