Peter and William have been together for seven years. They met as active members in the same chapter of a liberal political party. Peter has worked within a local trade union and was made its head two years ago. William is employed as an addictions therapist in a local adolescent rehabilitation center.
Elisabeth and Jane are Peter's children from his previous marriage, while Mark is the couple's adopted son. Elisabeth and Jane attend the local elementary school. William has reduced his workload to part-time to maximize the amount of time he can be home with baby Mark.
