[Opinions] Eden
I've recently found myself brooding over this name a lot. A lot of people here on BtN have expressed dislike for it - I've been wondering why. Not to say that I wouldn't like positive comments about the name as well. Opinions? Any combo ideas? Really, any thoughts would be appreciated. :-)
Thanks!
Thanks!

Love it for a girl & I will consider using it in the future.

I love this name for a girl (as you can probably tell from my posting name), and also the nickname Edie.
I have noticed many people on the boards dislike it though. I think some people find it trashy, in the same way people think Neveah etc trashy. I just don't see it this way, although I probably wouldn't use it for a child because of this (well, maybe as a middle name...).
I don't like it on a boy, too feminine pretty. Aiden/Aidan etc seem more boyish.

I love it on a girl.
On a boy: wonderfully refreshing and handsome.
On a girl: dull, trendy, and almost trashy.

I think my biggest problem is how it looks. I don't know why it bothers me so much but it does. Also the concept of the garden of Eden strikes me as for some reason absolutely ridiculous as a given name. Also it sounds more masculine to me. Also I am so tired of -n names especially for girls. Also I have never seen it go well in any combo ever. There is no name I can think of that would go well with it. Also it seems entirely completely modern to me. I don't think it is at all pretty. I don't see why people like it.

I love the name Eden. It sounds so peaceful...which I guess is fitting since it means "place of pleasure". I also only like it on a girl though...I know it is only a feminine name but I once met a man named Eden (not sure how it was spelled but it was pronounced the same) and it didn't have the same effect on me at all.
