I think Anne is lovely. As a first name, I don't find Anne boring because you never hear it nowadays. I dislike Ann, however, it has a completely different feeling for me and it looks unfinished. Anne is much more classic.
I can't see Anne making it into the top 100 any time soon (which is good).
