Since I know Spanish and use it at work, I wouldn't name my child one. Prima would be better, but I don't know if I'd use it.
I think it's really pretty. The mother of my brother's horse is named Una. We fostered her while the baby was still nursing.
I pronounce it OO-nuh. I've never known anyone with this name, but it was a character name in an LM Montgomery book; I think the book was Rainbow Valley. Perhaps I'm influenced by the character, but I picture a very sweet, innocent, quiet, wistful girl.
I like it. I wouldn't use it myself, but I'd like to see a little Una.

I prefer it YOU-na but when most people first read it they tend to say OO-na. There's a tiny girl in my year called YOU-na but all the teachers call her OO-na and she never complains, bless her. But the chavvy idiots call her 'tuna' which has put me off the name. I still like it though, for its uniqueness- if that's a word.
One? It's just a Spanish word to me. Even if it wasn't I don't think it sounds pretty at all really. I prefer Luna or Ula a little better.
