Three years ago, Adrian and Niamh decided to adopt a child. Even though they already had four young children, they felt that they had more than enough love for every one of them. And so 4-year-old Yuuki joined the family. Yuuki was adopted from Japan, and her new parents decided to keep her name.
About the same time, two new relationships started in the family. Curiously, the two new members are both in law inforcement! Shawn is actually George's partner - they are both FBI agents. Spencer is Bella's partner - she's a junior detective in Homicides.
Bella had to work on a case with George and Shawn - that's when they started clicking. At first though, they thought they couldn't stand each other. It had to be Spencer McFarland, Bella's mentor and partner, to point out that maybe it was because they were too much alike. So after a couple of years of on and off dating, Shawn and Bella finally got together and she found herself pregnant! The whole family was happy - until they found that, once more, a woman in the family was having eight children. As hard as it was, Bella was almost used to the whole drama. But it was extra hard for her to go into selective reproduction when her mother didn't. It pained her to think that it might have been her to be terminated! Still, with Shawn's and everyone else's support, she made the decision and three of the embryos where removed. Bella gave birth to four girls and a boy, premature. Unfortunately, after a week of fighting, one of the girls didn't make it. Shawn and Bella decided not to name her, but Bella always thought about her as Mary, which she knew to be her own sister's name. Still, the couple is thrilled with their four precious babies, and so are Kat and Hugo: they almost can't believe that after having 16 grandchildren (!!!) Helena, Lux, Jonas and Eva are their first biological ones.
Alice Wonderchild - Alice's stage name - is the lead singer in a punk rock band. When Bella introduced her partner to her sister she never in a million years thought they would fall in love and get married. But they did! And a year after the quads were born, Alice gave birth to Shannon Elaina - she was named after Spencer's sister and mother, both deceased. And so the family keeps growing!!
