[Opinions] Gladys?
Ready for a comeback? I was thinking about it, and it's really not that bad of a name. Maybe I'm crazy. What do you think of Gladys?

"Gladys, where are you going? Upstairs, to take a bath. Gladys, with legs like toothpicks and a neck like a giraffe-raff-raff-raff-raff-raff-raff. Gladys pulled out the plug. Oh my goodness, oh my soul, there goes Gladys down the hole! Glug, glug, glug."
Probably no one else has that association, but that's always the first thing I think of when I hear that name! It's a song my uncle taught me when I was a kid. It's silly, but all I can think of is poor Gladys going down the bathtub drain, lol.

I think it would be refreshing to see, but once again I cant see this name being the next Isabella or Hannah.
I'm not crazy about the name. Every Gladys I've met has been over 70.
"Our Glad" - bloomin' awful!
I think of the great actress Gladys Cooper, and of gladioli, but that does not change my opinion that this name should not be disinterred.
I don't think it's used for babies in Wales anymore either.
Claudia is so much prettier (but I would never use it because if the meaning).

I don't see this coming back anytime soon. I think it's a lovely and classy name, but I don't think it'll be the next Isabella or anything like that.
I agree, if it were spelled a different way.
For some reason this name always makes me think of lace.
Gladdis? I like that spelling.

For some reason that spelling reminds me of Aladdin... I don't know why.
It reminds me of epiglottis
I like Gladys. Like Array said, maybe not ready on a grand scale, but I can see it happening. It's got a y in it already, so people won't even need to trendify it. :]
