[Opinions] Rousseau & Rossetti
WDYT of Rousseau and Rossetti? I know some of you don't like surnames as first names, but there are some that I do like.Would you use these on a boy or a girl?

I think these'd work better as middle names. Rossetti, I could see as a first name pretty easily; Rousseau, I think I'd have to see in action for it to work for me.I'd use Rousseau for a boy and Rossetti for a girl. Or both for boys (if Rossetti was the middle name), or both for girls (if Rousseau was a middle name).Array

Rousseau makes me think of Danielle Rousseau of Lost before Jean-Jacques...which is, um, kind of sad. But: I love philosophers' names (I don't know how they do it, but they always end up with some magically awesome last name), and I thus like the name "Rousseau".As for Rossetti - there seems to be a family of Rossettis who were poets, authors, and painters, but they seem a bit obscure, so the association doesn't work quite as well for me as "Rousseau" does. It's not quite my style - I think I don't like that it ends in an 'i'.Regarding gender: Rousseau I would use for a boy (nn Ross or Russ), and Rossetti I would use for a girl (nn Rose or Rosie).

LOL!Rousseau? Jean-Jacques Rousseau? As a girls' name?I am dying. Do you know stuff about Rousseau? Look up some of his views towards women.Oooh bad idea! Rossetti I don't like either, I don't see why not Rosetta. If I were Italian I would feel righteously annoyed, now I am just annoyed. I can't wait until the day Russian patronymics catch on as girl names. "WDYT Ivanovich and Gavrilovich for girls"

I don't think I like them as first names and Rossetti isn't my style but I think that Rousseau would be a very cool mn. Especially when you take into account Jean Jacques Rousseau. Rossetti could go either way but Rousseau seems very masculine.

Rousseau for a boy, Rossetti for a girl.

Both are boysNeither is my style. I could see them definitely as middle names, and pretty unique ones, but not really as first names. Neither of them is feminine enough for a girl, though, so they would definitely be unusual boy names. Hey, I'm not for surnames, but I much prefer these to the TRENDY Madison. :-P

I tend to like surnames as first names, but these two are too surnamey for me. Rousseau would be okay as a boy's middle name though (especially if it was a family name).
