(I had already written about Hugo's accident last round. Here's what I wrote, plus this round's event. I've also changed Kat's age - it's 32 and not 21 ;)
While he was away, Hugo's base was attacked and he suffered an injury in his spinal chord. He underwent surgery and he was sent back home. When he woke up, at the hospital, he saw Kat holding his hand and crying - for a minute he thought he had died. But when she discovered he was awake, she kissed him and told her how much she had missed him. As happy as he was to see her, something about him felt wrong. He realized why he had that feeling when the doctor came in and told him all about the accident, and how the damage had affected his legs. He wouldn't be able to walk, he was going to have to use a wheelchair.
With all the tragedy that has stricken this family, Kat and all the children are just happy to have him home again, safe. For three years they had to live without Hugo, but now he's back. And he is commited to physiotherapy; as little hope as the doctors gave him, he refuses to give up.
After everything that's happened, the family was graced with a little bit of happiness. Viviana was in college when she first met Eric. She really liked him and she could tell he liked her too, but she was a bit afraid that he would be freaked out by her past. Only, Johnny is her pride and joy, and she would find it hard to not talk about him even if she tried to. So she decided to come clean early. To her surprise, not only Eric didn't mind about her past - he admired her courage - as he absolutely loved Johnny once they met. Johnny liked him too, and he gave his blessing to the couple. Eric and Viviana fell hopelessly in love and so they got married. It was a great joy for the whole family when she found out she was pregnant! Everyone loves little Liam - and Johnny is very excited to have a baby brother.
As much as they love them, Kat and Hugo have a great deal of trouble trying to explain people that Johnny and Liam are their grandchildren. Everyone who doesn't know the family assumes they're kidding and that they are their nephews. Kat and Viviana actually get mistaken for sisters a lot. A similar thing happens when they meet new people - they keep getting asked if they run a daycare or occupation center for children. When they say ten of the kids plus Viviana are their children, Erik is their son-in-law and the other two are their grandsons, people laugh and ask, "Yeah, but... seriously?"
