Cath always loved animals, but they lived in a building where pets weren't allowed; that, and Frank isn't too fond of them, except for his old dog Welsh. When they moved to a bigger house, Cath talked about getting a pet from the local shelter, but Frank wasn't too sure. One day, the twins and Bobby were playing in the park when Lola shouted, "Mommy! Mommy, look! Kitties!" The three of them were peeking inside a bush. Cath went there and found three abandoned kittens - all white. She figured she couldn't just leave them there - and so she took them to the local vet. After the vet had examined them, a lady there offered to keep one, and the nurse said she could keep another one, but neither of them or anyone else could take the third cat! She was the only who wasn't completely white - she had a black spot around her eye and on her ear. The kids asked her if they could keep the kitty, and Cath wanted to take her too, but she didn't know how Frank would react. He wasn't too happy about the idea - but three little kids and your own wife pleading to keep the kitty made him finally say yes. He didn't admit it, but the fact that Alba - how she was named, because of her white fur - was too cute helped too.
