I think they are both lovely old-fashioned names, but I prefer Iris. Probably b/c this name is used where I live too (we pronounce it EE-riss though).
I also think it depends a lot on the surname. If your surname was Smith, Iris would run into it. And in that case, I would prefer Ivy.
