They started out as kings of Piedmont of the Savoy dinasty, then Victor Emanuel II became king of the whole of Italy when the country united in 1860s. I think it would be a rather infortunate combo on a real kid, esp. one part-Italian as my hypothetica future kids would be, lol. Victor Emanuel III was king during WWII and has a terrible reputation because he allowed Mussolini to become dictator and fled the country after the Allied invasion.
I do like Emanuel as well very much, incidentally.
