Wdyt? I don't hear of many Eleanors nowadays.

I love Eleanor. It's one of my *top* female names...beautiful, sophisticated, has so many nickname possibilities.
Love it.
I plan on using it some day. Hopefully it won't have experienced a popularity surge by the time I have children, because I would rather like for my future children to maintain the individuality of the names I currently have on my list.
In my opinion, Eleanor is a very age-appropriate name at any age. I know a couple of "Ellie"s who will probably go by Eleanor when they're adults. (Personally, I wouldn't use Ellie as a nn, but I love Ella. Or Lena. Or Nora.)
The biggest reason I fell in love with the name was because of Eleanor of Aquitaine--I did a lot of reading about her after I discovered she's my great (x a bunch) grandmother; she was strong-willed, independent, and rather radical and revolutionary and she is absolutely fascinating.

I love it but I know LOADS of all ages & spellings. Its really popular in England ans always has been.
I love Eleanor. It's gorgeous and not overly popular, but doesn't shout old-fashioned. It also has great nicknames, which is my only problem with the name. I can't decide between Ella, Norie, Nora and all the others...
I know a little girl name Eleanor and at first I didn't care much for it but I must admit that it's starting to grow on me.
I love it and would consider using it when I start having kids. (It honors my grandma.) I haven't heard it on anyone under 65, but I think it's beautiful and definitely "board-popular."
