Well I pronounce it Vye-Oh-lah but I skim over the Oh part..you can still hear it but it's not as big as the pronunciation makes it look.

That's how I pronounce it tooMore like VYE-o-lah, with the emphasis on the first syllable. It's how my great-grandmother pronounced her name, and I had an English prof. who pronounced the Shakespeare character the same.I think you might get different pronunciations the first time someone says it out loud, but once they hear the correct pronunciation, they'll catch on. I think you'll probably get a split between VIE-oh-lah and Vye-OH-lah (I always envision this pronunciation as a drawling, sort of Southern accent).

The accent would be on the 'O' normally. 'VYE-oh-lah' or 'VYE-lah' is closer to Violet, so it might be preferable to go for Violet if you want that pronunciation.
