Dear Mr. and Mrs. Misra,
Thank you for your interest in the Time Travel Adoption Agency. We have been lucky enough to find siblings for you to adopt. We believe that they will be good sisters to Mariam.
Hailing from 1941 are nine year old twins, Margery Claire and Amanda Faye Guy. Called Margie and Mandie by most, they are as different in personality as they are similar in appearance. Margery, on the left, is shy and a bit clumsy; she loves cats and hopes someday to have a pet of her own. Mandie, on the right, is more outgoing but tends to distrust people on first sight; it sometimes takes work to get past her defenses, but conversations about horses often work. Both girls love to read and adore the rare treat of ice cream sundaes.
The Guy twins' parents died recently in the London Blitz, and it is important that we are able to fit them with a new parent or parents as soon as possible. Thank you for your generous offer to consider taking them in. All of our potential adoptees understand that they may be requested to go by new names in their new lives and are not averse to the possibility, though we at the Time Travel Adoption Agency recommend that a new parent or parents keep at least some vestiges of their old names.

P.S. After having the girls a few months, should you indeed confirm your adoption, we would be delighted to receive a letter in return; it is important for us to follow up on our charges and see if the children are adjusting to their vastly different ways of life.

Margie and Mandie have fit in wonderfully - though at first it must have been strange seeing London again in this new time without terror. Mariam at first was a bit wary of the girls, but now she's been playing with them and they gave her the affectionate nickname Mamie, my husband and I are glad our three little M's have been getting along great despite differences. Their favourite time of day is when we all read together, they really love books! Mandie has also taken a great interest in the Natural History museum and has been nagging to go there every weekend, and when she wants something she really goes for it! But little Margie is a lot quieter (Mamie says thank goodness - she couldn't have two loud Mandie's in the house!) and spends a lot of time playing with her new tabby cat Lucy.
Thank you so much for sending us these wonderful little girls! I'm sure they're happy here and I hope they truly feel part of our family. I can scarcely imagine the house without them anymore. They are both ten next week and we plan to have a picnic in the park with some local children and schoolfriends, they seem really excited about the whole thing, and we've hired a pony, not quite a horse but Mandie won't stop bragging about how she'll ride one on her big day. Thank you again!
