[Opinions] Alphonse?
Thoughts?
I started thinking about it seriously a few months ago and never got the chance to post about it. but now, here it is. what are your opinions on it. if I ever did actually use it, it would definitely be as a middle name.

I prefer Alfonso
Alphonse sounds unfinished to me.

Intriguing.
I once drove past a "St. Alphonsus" church and couldn't get the name out of my head. I love obscure medieval saint names, so Alphonsus was easy to fall for.
Then I went to Portugal and read up on royal names like Alfonso. I really like that variant.
The more modern Alphonse is cool too. Meeting an Al and finding out that it comes from the more unusual name of Alphonse (instead of the usual Albert) would be great.
Thumbs up, for me. :-)

I think it's quite nice. There is a very famous children's book about a boy named Alfons in Sweden and I think that has influenced my opinion on the name. As a middle name it's ok but I don't think it's useable as a first name (the fact that alfons means pimp in Danish doesn't help ;))
