[Opinions] Caitria?
WDYT? I've liked it for a while, but it really grew on me the past few weeks and is now one of my favorites. I'd use Cait or Caitie as a nn.How would you pronounce it? It looks like KAYT-ree-ah to me, but how would you say it? And also, does anyone now the "real" Irish pronunciation?And finally, does Caitria sound too trendy? I mean, it's got the Cait- like Caitlin and variants, so does it seem to trendy Irish? It's clearly not popular, but it still sounds a bit made up and "unique", which I would rather not have.

I want to like this name, but I just can't seem to get past the fact that it looks like "Kay-tree-ah" but I'm pretty sure it should be prounounced "Kah-TREE-ah", like Katrina without the n. It just looks wrong somehow.
Sorry. =o)

I like Caitria much better than Caitlin. The only reservation I have is that there is some debate over it being a legit Irish name (on the other board). I pronounce it the way you do but have no clue as to the original pronunciation.

Going by the rules of the Irish language it would be pronounced Cawtria. But people would also say CAT-ria. I like it :-)

Love it :-)This is a recent addition to my PNL. It's cute but 'whole', can be shortened to Cait but isn't Caitlin, etc.Two thumbs up from me.

At the moment, aside from Katharine, my favourite form of the name is Katra. Caitria sounds trendy to me, but it's sort of a pleasant trendy? It's a perfectly nice name in appearance and sound; it's just going to blend in very much with all the other Katies and Caties and so on out there.Array

It looks..wrong.
I prefer Catrina, Caitriona / Catriona.Caitria is probably just KAH-tree-ah. Caitriona is pronounced the same as Catriona.
