Madeleine is a native Parisian who was visiting New York City when she met Noah at a Starbucks. They got to talking until he wrote his number on a napkin. She called him the next day and they started dating. They had two weddings. One was in held in Paris, for Madeleine's family and the other was in New York, for Noah's. They are currently living in New York City, near Times Square. Noah is a doctor and Madeleine is a photojournalist.
