I love Frances. Classy and pretty, so I think it works.

I love Frances, but I'm not crazy about Francie. I like the nn Frankie for a girl.

I love Frances as well as Francie as an occasional nickname. This name is definitely underused and underappreciated as a first name.

I love Frances and Francie. I may be biased as it was my late Mom's name. I've got it in the middle in about 4 combos and in first place in one. I'm a bit hesitant about first place because my Mom disliked her name. Not the sound; the look and the "no, E-s not I-s, I-s is for Boys!" I can clearly recall her saying that at least 15 times a week. And I don't want to do that to a daughter of mine. So for me, it will most likely be a middle. But I would love to meet a little Frances! (am I the only one who was thrilled that Kurt & Courtney named their girl Frances (Bean is silly but it's in the middle) all those years ago?

I adore both. I would shortlist Frances in a second if I didn't like Francis for a boy more. I'm surprised it's not coming back into style.

I dislike Frances. It's my friend's middle name and she HATES it.

I like it a lot. I think it's a great name, and I don't mind Francie like I do Fran or Franny or Fanny.

I like it. It has a classic, sophisticated, kind of artsy feel to me. I absolutely loathe the nickname Frankie on a girl, and I also dislike Fran, Frannie, and Frenchie. But Francie is alright! :) Frances was my grandmother's middle name, and I would like to use it as a middle name for a future daughter to honor her. I think it makes a great middle name anyway. It was also the name of the main character in a children's book I liked when I was little.

Frances is ok for me; I much much prefer Francesca, alone and with the nn Frankie.
