[Opinions] Millie
What are you're opinion's on Millie, possibly as a nn however i'm not really a fan of the usual Amelia or Emilia, so any suggestions and general opinions please? Also do you prefer Millie or Milly if it was used as a full name?I know it's quite popular at the moment, however to me it has a nice old fashioned feel to it.

I LOVE the name Millie/Milly. I prefer it as a full name, rather than a nn, although that works too. If it's a full name then I like Millie, for a nn I prefer Milly. Millicent could be the full name.

I love so many names with the nn Millie Bit silly as a full first name though, I am generally opposed to the practice of nicknames as full names because I feel it a bit disrespectful. Hope you find something you like! My favorite is Camilla. Ah, Camilla. I need to re-add that to my PNL.

I think it's adorable as a nickname but sickly sweet and waaaaaaaaay too cutesy as a given name.If you don't care for Amelia or Emilia, what about Millicent, Camilla, Camille, Amalia, Milena, or Matilda?

If you were going to use it as a full first name, I much prefer the Millie spelling.

I don't like it. It sounds whiny and "ill," IMO.Though it could work as a NN for Millicent, which I love!

I love Millie/Milly as a nickname for Camilla, Emeline/Emmeline, and Millicent.

I love Millie/Milly.I only like Millie as a nickname, but I like Milly as both a nickname and given name. *shrug* Millie just looks more "nickname-ish" to me.Millicent and Camilla are my favorite full names for Millie/Milly. There are also Camellia, Camille, Marilla, Mathilda/Matilda, Mathilde, Mila, Milana, Milena, Mileva, Milla, Romilly, Yamila...

I like Millie as a full name, although Camellia is nice.

I think that Millie is cute but not enough as a legal name. I suggest Mildred or Millicent.

I like Millie. As for a full name, how about Mildred? I heard Millie used as a nn for that, on the TV show "Numb3rs", where a character is Mildred. If not, there's the obvious Millicent. A name I also really like.

I like Millie - I have it on my list as a nickname for Emilia because I dislike Millicent. I think it's a cute name and it can be used for quite a few names: Miilicent, Melisande, Camilla, Camellia, Emmeline, Melinda, and Melina are just a few that come to mind.I only like it as a nickname, however. I strongly dislike using nicknames alone as first names. I don't have a preference for spelling regarding Millie or Milly.

Millie is a darling nn. Love it. Aside from the usual Amelia / Emilia, how about:Emily
Camille / Camilla
Camellia
Millicent / Melisande
Jamila
Mary (if Molly is a nn for Mary, I don't see why Millie couldn't be too.)
Michelle
Matilda
Mirabel / Mirabelle / Mirabella
Melina
Imelda
Melanie
Eumelia ("yoo-meh-LEE-uh")
Olympia
Carmel / Carmella
Marcelline
Madeline / Madeleine / Magdalene
Mila / Mileva ("mih-LAY-vuh")(Einstein's 1st wife)(Slavic)
Melody
Mahala / Mahalia
Mehetabel
Malaika (= angel)(African girl's name)
Romilly
Romilda (?)
Muriel / Muirgheal
Sulis Minerva
OK. So some of these are more practical than others. But if you're going to call her by her nn, then I thought you might like to be a bit adventurous for the formal name. I'd love to know if any of these strike your fancy. Thanks. Happy hunting!

Millie is really cute as a nn (I definitely wouldn't use it as a fn though). It's familiar, yet refreshing at the same time. It's got spunk. As for full names, wdyto Camille, Camillia, Millicent, Milena, Romilda, Emily, Milagros, Maximilienne, or Milda?

I don't care for Milly in general. It makes me think of Milli Vanilli.I don't like Millie/Milly as a full name. It is too nicknamey/childish.Amelia or Emilia would be much better with Milly as a nn. Both Amelia and Emilia are lovely though becoming more popular.
