I really like it- it's been near the top of my list for a while now. I think it is a very nice (and not so popular) alternative to Lachlan.

I love it now, but won't love if it becomes trendy. Sort of the way extreme trendiness ruined Aidan for me. And I can really see Declan becoming trendy. However, I had posted in an earlier post that Declan is Elvis Costello’s real name, which is a huge plus in my book.

I LOVE it!

It makes my skin crawl... all I see is "De Clan" (aka The Clan)

But . . .. . . Declan is pronounced "DECK-lun" not "de-CLAN."Does that help? Or is the visual just too much? This is the one drawback to this name. The pronunciation isn't well known and I've seen this reaction before. *sigh*

I really dislike it. Maybe because it reminds me of Ant and Dec. And also of the ugly boy in Neighbours.S xx

It looks like declaw.

It looks like a typo to me.Thrown together and messy, and it's not even pleasant sounding to me.

Would it change your mind if you knew it was pronounced with the stress on the first syllable, not the second? "DECK-lun"

I'm afraid not. :(I know how it's pronounced and I think the pronunciation is really pretty handsome, but it looks like declaw and that just tends to overwhelm any other opinions I have about the name.

It's not on the top of my list, but I've always liked it.

Declan is my cousin's name. I'm glad it's becoming more known. When he was little everyone called him "Decky." (But I have no idea how it was spelled.)
