The moment Phil and Molly found out they were having a baby girl they knew she would be named after the beautiful place they honeymooned, North Carolina. They toyed with the idea of directly naming her Carolina but figured it would be hard to get people to pronounce it like the state instead of Caro-LEE-na. So they decided on the more subtle and southern old-fashioned Caroline. It wasn't hard after that to come to an agreement to put Phil's grandmother's name in there. Antonia, Phil's maternal grandmother passed away just 6 months before Caroline was born and they thought it was only right seeing as she was so happy when she heard the news she was going to have her first great-grandchild. Unfortunately she'll never get to see Caroline but her legacy will live on in her name.
Phil was a little weary about having a room in all pink but Molly insisted since they were having a girl. It was a lot of hard work but Phil was man enough to walk out with a ton of pink paint on him when the job was done.
