[Opinions] Pamela
Lately I really love the name Pamela. (Not Pam). I call it one of my "retro" faves along with Cynthia.

Pamela . . . . I've never like its sound. NMSAA. Sorry. :-(

I think Pamela is really pretty. I really do NOT like Pammie or Pam, however.

I have a very intelligent, beautiful cousin called Pamela, sometimes nn Pam or Pammy, so I have always had a good association with this name. I also really like it phonetically and think the time is right for it to make a comeback!S xx

I used to hate it, but I started liking it quite a bit in the last couple of years.

My youngest sister is named Pamela, but she does go by Pam. She is never called Pamela, always Pam. I do like the name, and have always thought it was the best one that my mother came up with, and she saved it for last!
I have always liked Cynthia also, but not Cindy. I had a good friend in high school named Cynthia, but again, she was always called Cindy, never Cynthia.

I love Pamela. It has a smooth sound to it and so down-to-earth. I think it's better than Cynthia.

I like Paloma and Parisa more

I love Pamela and Cynthia. I think they're both charming and definitely underestimated because they're dated. They're a specific feeling of dated, though, that I really like. Pamela is very sweet and easygoing.Sometimes I play around with it as a middle name because I'm hesitant of putting it in a position where it might be shortened to Pam, which I don't care for either. Rachael Pamela is one of my favorites.

I love it, too. I don't love Pam, either, so my nn of choice is Mel (jeziana suggested it to me I believe, and I love the nn Mel so it works well for me). Pam is all right and I have a good association with it (Pam Beesley from The Office) but it is a little too middle-aged for me, so I prefer Mel. But just plain Pamela is lovely, too.

What would you nickname a Pamela if you do not like Pam? Or would you just insist that she be called Pamela and nothing else? Just wondering... thanks.

I would definetly insist on the full name, I'm not big on nicknames anyway.
