[Opinions] Arabic names?
Replies
I like 'Aisha, but I'd take out the apostrophe in English to make it easier.
I don't like any of the others too much, but Soraya is my aunt's name! (I'm Iranian.)
I would personally never use an Arabic name and an English name together. To me, it doesn't fit. My name is Layla (middle name Zahra,) and whenever I see a combo like Layla Marie or Layla Rose it just doesn't seem right to me at all.

I love Arabic names. As far as English mn names go, it really depends on the first name. Anyway, the mns I like best with Arabic girl names are Clare, Rose, Lily or Pearl - I don't really like my girls' names to be too classic sounding (like Elizabeth, Katherine, Margaret, etc). As far as my boys' - anything goes. Generally, I tend to stick to "modern", non-traditional, musical, nature-y or Biblical names (not necessarily because they're from the Bible but just because they're beautiful names) for both genders.
My faves...
Zahra / Zahrah
Layla
Naima
Zaria
Ayesha / Aisha
Aminah
Zaira
Naila
Karima
Zakiyya
Akil
Nasir / Naseer
Sameer
Zayn
Jaleel
Kamil

I really like Aisha and Noor as well.
Other names I like are:
Layla
Hamza - it's a boy's name. I really like the way it sounds.

My one clear favorite is Na'ima prn "nye-EE-muh." I love that name beyond reason and would use it on my child in a heartbeat. The only male name I can think of that I truly love is Mohammed and its many spelling variations, therefore, these are my favorite girls' names.
Aida
Fatima
Haifa
Laila / Layla
Lela
Mumina (the meaning is so original)
Nadia
Nasim (again, beautiful meaning)
Zaahira / Zahira
Zaida
Zaira

I love Aisha (and Ayesha, too. Actually, Ayesha is probably my favourite spelling of the two.) and Noor. LOVE Noor.
Not listed here, but I like Kelila, too.
I don't see a problem using a non-Arabic name with any of these names.
Aisha Kathleen
Soraya June
Noor Juliet
Karima Faith
Fairuz Lorelei
Raniya Willow
Isra Giselle
Alina Joan
Ayda Clarissa
