Help[Opinions] Frances and Petunia
These are the names of my new neighbors' little girls. They're adorable and I think the names are lovely! Petunia is 3, I don't know her middle name but the newborn is Frances Elizabeth. WDYT?

Petunia is one of those names that I would have never in a million years thought I could take seriously until recently.
I sort of like it, but still fear it seems too cartoon-ish to use on a real kid.
I really like Petra which is somewhat similar, but more within my comfort zone.

I love flower names, and although Petunia is not one of my favorites, it's quite nice. I'd be unexplainably thrilled to meet a little girl named Petunia. Frances is nms, but goes with Petunia quite well.

I love Frances. It's cute and classy.

No. Just no. That name has waaay too much teasing potential. Frances I can somewhat get behind but not Petunia. Together? Not so much.

I don't really like Petunia, but I like Frances. It's nice to see some names that are older and less trendy on younger people. I'm a little worried that trends are changing, though, and by the time I have kids, there will be a rash of older or classic sounding names and my list will have to go. *g*

My grandmother & her sister were Frances and Petunia!
Well, Petunia's name was really Mary Ann, but she was given the nn Petunia from a song called "Petunia in the Onion Patch" because she was the littlest and cutest. Close enough, though. =)
I like the combo. My one complaint is that Frances sounds so much more serious than Petunia.

Wow, I wish I knew kids with names as interesting as those!

Those are both quite dated in my mind, but it's nice to see (or head of, I guess in this case) two little girls with older names. It's almost like they've gone so far around the bend that they're fresh again.
