Love love love for Rufus. It is my second favorite Ru- name, next to Rudolph. Rufus nn Rudy is my fixture of choice, and my fantasy Rufus sibset is Rufus Dragon and Edgar Hart.
Oh I think it is so neat. It is dumb that it's a dog name. It is very Roman and... idk, handsome. It is one of my faves and if I didn't love Rudolph so much I could definitely see myself shortlisting it.
ETA: I like Rudolph and Rufus but not Rupert and Reuben.
