[Opinions] Briseis
pronounced bri-SAY-es.
Briseis is a character from Homer's Iliad (story of the downfall of Troy). she was a Trojan widow taken by Achilles as a slave, but both fell in love. when she was taken by Agamemnon as replacement for his own slave, Achilles refused to fight in the war.
i would use the nickname 'Bree'.
what do you think?
any other nickname suggestions?

It kind of has a cool sound, and I love names from Greek mythology, but at the same time, I can't help but notice what the first four letters are. Besides Bree, do you like the NNs Rissa or Rissie?
yes, thanks i hadn't thought of that.
Brisida is a new one to me, and I like it!, which makes me happy, because I've always liked the story of Briseis but never the name itself. So here's a new, and authentic, alternative! Curious: Would Briseida or Briseda be very wrong? Those spellings seem more indicative of the original name, to me.
Briseida is the most accurate
It pronounced Bre-see-da
