Lilac is ... oh god Lyric is contrived, I can't stand it. There is something neat and sweet and clipped about Lilac even though it isn't my style, but Lyric is something that should be left to middle schoolers in their failed novels for the really sexy mysterious character.

Oh GAWD I agree.

While I think "lyric" is a pretty word, here's something about it as a name that's always bothered me and I think you've hit on it. I can just see some tween girl calling her fanfic Mary-Sue Lyric...
