I pronounce it TAIR-uh, but I find it easy to use TAR-uh if the Tara in question prefers that pronunciation. Where I live, I think TAIR-uhs are the norm, and TAR-uhs are few and far between.
I like the name, but it doesn't exactly excite me. Tara feels somewhat dated, imo. I grew up with so many Taras; it's hard for me to separate it from the rest of the Jennifer/Lisa/Michelle/Kelly generation.
