[Opinions] Help with nicknames?
We think we have officially decided to name our son Peter Jeffries...hopefully we won't change our minds in the next two weeks! My wife and I are planning to call him Peter, but our families are big believers in nicknames within the family. Do you have any suggestions for nicknames for Peter Jeffries? Obviously there is Pete, but can you think of others? Thanks.

Well, the only one I can think of is PJ. I had a friend in hs whose brother was Peter Joseph and nicked PJ but only by the immediate family. I'm not sure he wanted his peers calling him that. Congrats on finally making a decision. ;-) Peter is great.

My friend has a brother named Peter and she calls him Pjeter (peh-JEE-ter). I'm not sure why she calls him that, but I think it's kind of cute.

WaldoI see you like Waldo--that's our pet name for the baby! When we initially referred to him as Waldo we were making fun of the name and knew we would never choose it, but we have really grown to like it.

Well other than the obvious Pete and PJ and Petey...Perie (Perry) for PEter jeffRIEs
Tery (Terry) for peTER and the good old 'y' to make a nn.And then the more perculiar:
PT (PeTer)
PTR meteor (PeTeR and meteor kind of rhymes with it) (because when he learns to crawl he's off and you can't keep up with him) Of course it becomes simply "meteor", which then get's shortened to "te". then people always wonder what the true story is behind Peter being called Te.
Pepe (PEter)
Peep
Pear (maybe he'll love fruit), Pier (maybe he'll love fishing) for PEteR
Pyjama - because the short form of pyjamas (pajama) here is pjs.
Enough weird choices?
All the Peters I have known have been Pete or PJ (and I think one PJ didn't even have a J in his actual name at all).

AgreeI went to school with a PJ (Paul Jones, first and surname). He wouldn't go by anything else because he loved it.I'm kind of bias though, I love initial nns

Based on meanings, you could call him Rocky, if it suits him...

Pete is the only good one I can think of. The nn P.J. sounds a little "wimpy," imo.
