I like Lexi. My favorite name that it is short for is Alexa. Very sweet, good name.

Really, really can't stand it. Much, much prefer Alex. Even if it is pretty boyish, I still like it for a girl.

Entirely way too much of a nickname. No thank you. Much prefer Alexandra, Alessandra, or even Alexa. Loathe Alexis and Lexi.

As a given name I think its awful. Terribly trendy, will not age well. As a nn I find it tacky.

This is my nickname. I hate it, but at the same time, I'm used to it. I get the nicknames "Sexy Lexi" a lot, usually used as an insult (in some weird, twisted way) and it gets annoying after a while.

As a given name or nickname?I suppose Lexi is okay (mediocre) as a NN for Alexandra, a lovely and grand, though common, name.Yikes as a given name!

I like the name lexi, but i see it as a nickname for Alexis or Alexandra. It is a really cute name though.

Lexi has always seemed both childish and over-sexualized to me, not a pleasant combination. Probably goes without saying that I've never cared for it either as a nickname or a given name. I was going to say "I'd rather see such-and-such a name instead of Lexi" but the list is so long there's no point in going there. :-/

As a given name, I really dislike it. As a nickname, well, I still dislike it, but not as much.Frankly, I'm burnt out on Lexi/Lexy/Lexee et al. It seems like Lexi is the nn of choice for every parent choosing Alexandra, Alexis, Alexa, and so on. Add them all together, include the poor girls named just Lexi, and that seems like a lot of kids with the same name.

OTLove your signature!
Are you from Austin also?

I'm actually from just north of Houston, but I'd love to live near Austin someday.I have a little collection of "Keep ______ ______" stuff, like "Keep Houston Under Construction," "Keep Dallas Pretentious," "Make Austin Normal," etc. The line in my sig came from a dream, and I'm going to have it put on a t-shirt. =)edit=spelling

I really dislike it, there have been too many Lexi's, Lexie's, Lexee's born in my area lately. Alexandra nn Lexi isn't too bad though.

I like it as a short form of Alexandra only (note, not Alexandria, which I find eye-rollingly pretentious with that extra i).

Agree with both.

I like Alexandraand Alexandra nn "Lexi" is fine, but I dislike Lexi as a name on its own. Alexandra is much classier.
