[Opinions] Re: Abigail.

This is my parent's third favourite girl's name (they originally planned to have lots of children and Sarah, Claire and Abigail would have been the first three girls - there were complications when my mum was pregnant with me so I got stuck with the boy names (George and William)). Because of that it has always had a special place in my heart - she's the little sister I never actually had! It's sweet and pretty but also totally timeless, classic and really strong. Lovely, lovely, lovely.
I wouldn't really mind about the cousin thing unless you are really close to them. Currently my cousins are probably the most important people in my life (there are only four of them!) but as I grow older I suppose that may change.
I totally agree that it's really unassuming. A truly graceful name but with total strength. Fantastic.
I'm felling all wistful...
Sarah, Claire, Abigail, William, George, Jack and Grace...ah what could have been!

Thanks
I'm pretty damn proud of my parents naming! If only they'd had the kids and didn't feel the need to cram all the names into mine (Claire Georgia Wilhelmina "Georgia"). Way too much!
I recknon that as long as you wouldn't call the kid Abby as well then that would be totally OK. Abby and Abigail don't sound too similar when separated like that. Plus, depending on how old Abby is now and when you have a daughter, you could name her after her? Especially if she's an important part of your life. Depends on how you feel on honouring names I suppose.
