[Opinions] Mallory.
WDYT of Mallory? I never really considered it because it always reminded me of the Babysitters Club (which I loved but didn't like the character).
So, now that I'm considering it, I actually like it! WDYT?

I was also a fan of BSC... but i have a cousin named Mallorie(different spelling i know.)... she's just not a very nice girl... then again i've never met another Mallory, not to common of a name. but i do like it, i've considered it before myself.
On its own merits, I think its nice enough but a little boring. I've known a few in real life, and one was completely obnoxious, so that puts me off the name a little. I think it could be nice in the right combo.
I'm not a big fan. It seems like a name that was trendy in the 1980s and 90s, and had its day and now it feels outdated. I grew up in the 1980s, though, and Justine Bateman played a character named Mallory on "Family Ties" for several years, so that's my biggest association with it. Also, it's a masculine sounding surname, not crazy about those, and the "mal" part isn't very attractive to me. Plus it rhymes with Valerie, also not my favorite name. However, I have a co-worker that had a baby girl named Mallory Grace, and I was a bit surprised. She has rather tryndee taste in names, and as far as those go, this was rather tame so at least there's that. :b
I've been back and forth on it ever since reading the BSC (lol), but recently I've been really liking it. I think I just added it to my PNL the other day, actually. One of my favorite names is Molly so I probably couldn't ever use it, but it's really nice.
I don't like it because I hate surnames on girls.
I like it. My first thought actually was Mallory of the BSC, but I like that character :p Not nearly as much as Claudia and Mary Ann, though! Anyway...
Mallory is sweet, almost girl-next-door. The meaning is off-putting, but that depends on how you feel about meanings. It also reminds me of the 80s for some reason, but that's not a negative for me.
I also think it's similar in feel to Brittany (ughh), Courtney etc, which would make Mallory familiar without being common.

Because of Family Ties, perhaps? Mallory was the eldest Keaton child, followed by Alex P., Jennifer, and Andrew.
And, yes, I am an 80s geek. =)

Even as a child, I thought Mallory's name stuck out like a sore thumb. All the rest were so common.
Well that makes sense!
:P
:P
I also get an 80s vibe from Mallory, which is probably why I don't like it.
Kristy, all the way! :)
Ahh, Stacey!
:D
:D
I loved the Super Special where Stacy dated Sam!
I never read that one! *gasp*
I still remember finding out that she's diabetic! Ah, memories!
Ohh, btw, voted on your PNL ;)

It was the Super Special where they did the play, and I think they were also together in the Super Special with the vacation cottage and the haunted island...?
Now I want to go get my boxes of them out of storage *g*

I'll have to be the odd one out here and say I don't like it. It just sounds very dated to me. (I know it's probably not tied to any particular time, but it just feels that way.) Also reminds me of a mallard duck, and I never cared for the sound. It's very hard in the back of the throat for me. Sorry!
Assuming you like this for a girl, I like it. It used to be a favorite, but it's been knocked down my list.
The meaning may not be the greatest, but I love the sound of Mallory. I like that it's unisex, but sounds distinctly feminine enough to be nice on a girl. It would be great on a successful or confident girl, just to give the "unfortunate" meaning a slap in the face.
I don't like the meaning of this name...But I like the "sound"...
nms, but it's alright.
