[Opinions] Junia
I first thought of this name when I saw the movie 'Juno'. Although I think Juno is a little much for a girl, (Think Juno Beach and the Juno Awards) Junia (pronounced JOO-nee-ah)seems to flow nicely and avoids the whole Juno issue.
So what does everyone think of this name? Too girly? Too awkward?
Also, I would love to use the nickname Junebug. Does this work with Junia?

Junia is very cute.
I love Junia. Junebug works fine as a nickname for it.
Junior
It reminds me of "Junior" with a New York accent.

Hm, I can't say I have this problem. in a new york accent, atleast all the new yorkers I've met, I think it would sound like "JOON-ya" Junia is pronounced "joon-ee-ah"
That's barely any difference. This is a definite no.
I don't find Junia too girly - it's very practical in way when someone is thinking about Julia. I can always say something like: How about Junia? It sounds nicer and it's also more fresh. My favourite combos are Junia Eve, Junia Cecily and Junia Xanthe. Junia will also age well - it has some good nicknames for a little child, but at the same time it'll look good on an adult.
Junebug - eh, quite ok. with me, but I'd prefer June, Nia, even Juno.

Junia is a great name, although I do prefer Juno (but I definitely understand your concerns). Junebug would certainly work as an (occasional :P) nn.
I don't really like it, but it isn't the worst name I heard. What about June?
As for Junebug is a nice nickname, but I don't really like nicknames that this. It is still cute and would work with Junia (or June)
