Which means it's datable, it's boring beyond all belief, it's overly religious to me for some reason, and I just don't like it at all.

I agree 100%. I know one whose about 16 years old by now. She's the dd of a minister / pastor.

I've met two Bethanys . . .

I can't imagine either of them over 20, so by extension it seems like a rather childish name. So here's a "ditto" for you.

I know between 5-10 Bethanys

All from religious homes, all of lower socio-economic class, and all from religious families. So I guess I'm a bit biased.
