Well she was the concubine from the Iliad so I would never use it. I don't like the sound of the name anyway. It sounds too masculine and surnamey for me.

How do you pronounce it?
I'm not a fan because my pr. is like bris (circumcision) and it's not a sentiment I'd like conected to a girl's name.

bri-SAYS
(Not like in the word "says"; the S at the end actually makes the S sound.)

The name sounds really nice, but I find the character it comes from depressing (not to mention she's identified only through her father's name).

I LOVE it. Absolutely love it. The only thing I don't love about is the foreseeable spelling difficulties...like the ones I just had with the word foreseeable, lol. But I think it has a lovely, feminine sound. My favourite combo has a made-up middle name that I'd rather not share, but I think its precious :-)Briseis Eve
Briseis Amity
Briseis Daria
Briseis Maria
Briseis Yvaine
Briseis Vivian
Briseis Kathleen
Briseis Carmel
Briseis Dominique
Briseis Tessa
Briseis Clara/Claire
Briseis Scarlett (this was my fave for a while, and Scarlett Briseis)
Briseis Mercy
Briseis Annabel
Briseis Carmen
Briseis Lydia
Briseis Amelie
Briseis Lucine
Briseis Peridot
Briseis Erina
Briseis Maxine
Briseis Juno
Briseis Bethany (I used to be really big on this one, too, with the nickname "BB". Cute!)
Briseis Rose
Briseis Melody
Briseis RubyThat's all I can think of for now. Do any appeal to you?
