I think I'm in the Xander camp on this one; I say kat-uh-REE-na, and I'm not at all fond of kah-tah-REE-na.
I sympathize. I really see both pronunciations as correct, just spoken with different accents, but this would be enough to "demote" a name to mn status for me, too.
